This thesis, is all about structural optimization. The dissertation dealing with a case study ( a hook model). The case study of thesis, is about the optimization of a hook, purpose the distortions minimization.
The concept is based on the optimum design needing for every structure or system (for instance renewable energy system). Because of thesis purposes, to be easier and more understandable, it is decided to dealing with a case study.
A case study is about the optimization of a hook. The hook is decided as a common component and an easy model for elaboration. The thesis aim is to show the principals of an optimization, with help of a computer software, uses the method of finite elements. The principals of an optimization will be used from any potential components, systems or case studies irrespective of their complexity or difficulty. So, in this dissertation is presented the philosophy and the principals of an optimization as a base for any structure that needs optimization.
The thesis is divided in two sections˙ the literature review and the case study.
In the first part, it has become a reference to renewable energy systems and the needing for its optimization. Then, it is explained what is the hook as a component and what are its failures due to accumulation of large amount of stresses.
In the second section, follows the structure optimization with the help of the suitable computer software.
